Downtown Aquarium is the product of redeveloping two Downtown Houston landmarks – Fire Station No. 1 and the Central Waterworks Building. This magnificent six-acre entertainment and dining complex is a 500,000-gallon aquatic wonderland, home to over 300 species of aquatic life from around the globe. With a full-service restaurant, an upscale bar, a fully equipped ballroom, aquatic & geographic exhibits, shopping and a variety of amusements, Downtown Aquarium has it all!

We offer parking in the lot directly behind our building. Please note, this is a cashless lot. Upon entering, look for posted signs with QR codes. Use your phone to scan one of the QR codes, then follow the prompts to register your vehicle and complete payment.

Self Parking: $15

Valet Parking: $18

  • Please park in one designated space only. Vehicles parked improperly may be towed at the owner’s expense.
  • Pricing is subject to change and may vary seasonally.

  • Tailgating, grilling, and picnicking are not permitted.
  • Overnight parking is not allowed.
  • Unauthorized or abandoned vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Property wide events, ride maintenance,  weather updates and other circumstances lead us to sometimes change the hours of operations for certain parts of the Downtown Aquarium. Read here for updates on exhibit closures, time changes, ride closures, and reopenings. We apologize for any inconvenience these may cause!


Rides & Exhibits Closure Notice


The Shark Voyage train ride will be temporarily unavailable from September 8, 2026 through September 24, 2026. All other rides and attractions will remain open and available for guests during this period.


The Aquarium Adventure Exhibit will be closed from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026.


The Aquarium will open at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2026. All areas, exhibits, and attractions will open at 11:00 a.m.
